Employment Agreement between Hôpital Montfort and his President and CEO
Ontario hospitals is, starting January 1st 2012, subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). This legislative change is intended to promote a culture of transparency and accountability in public institutions. It should be noted that the law is retroactive to January 1st, 2007.
In order to ensure full transparency, CAHO member hospitals have unanimously decided to post the contracts of CEOs and senior executives on their website. CAHO recommends that institutions proactively post any information and documents that are likely to be the subject of a freedom of information request. A document entitled Performance Evaluation Program, which lays out the details of senior executive remuneration, will be posted to the website along with an amended version of the CEO’s contract and a sample senior executive contract.
