Social Services
The Montfort Hospital Social Services have been established to offer inpatients, outpatients and their loved ones professional counselling intended to help them readapt psychologically and socially.
Counsellors strive to evaluate and better understand the emotional, social and economic factors which contribute to the patient’s illness.
You may contact Social Services directly at extension 2807 or through the medical/nursing staff.
Pharmaceutical Services
Clinical pharmacists work in cooperation together with doctors and nurses. They are available to answer your questions regarding your medication (distribution and availability during your stay). The nursing staff will refer your enquiries to them.
Pastoral Care Service
Our Pastoral Service takes the spiritual side of life seriously. It recognizes the importance of various spiritual values and religious beliefs in patient care. All patients and family members are offered the opportunity to observe the traditions or sacraments of their particular faith, to explore personal spirituality, to receive moral support in compassionate surroundings. The celebration of the Holy Communion is held weekdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel located on the 4th floor, room 432. Communion is offered daily. Chaplain services are available from Monday to Friday. Ask for extension 3997.
Other Services Telephone KEEP IN TOUCH! It's simple...If you want to call your family or friends, Montfort Hospital offers a telephone rental service during your stay.
Telephone Rental Thanks to this service, each patient has his or her private line. An employee from the Admitting Office will ask you if you wish to rent a telephone. If you are interested in this service, please pre-pay the rental cost at the cashier's office, Room R-202 during working hours or with the Registration clerk.
Installation: $16 (taxes included) Payable when activated. Method of payment: Cash, Interac, Visa, MasterCard, American Express. Sorry, no refunds.
Other Information On The Rental If during your hospitalization, you decide to rent a telephone, call the cashier's office at 2105 during working hours or the Admitting Office at 2700.
If your telephone needs to be repaired, call the Communication Services at 2400.
Internal Calls To make a call within the Montfort Hospital, dial the 4-digit number, i.e. 9999.
Local Calls Dial "9", listen for the dial tone and dial the 7-digit number, i.e. 999-9999. If you hear a fast busy signal, it is because all the outside lines are busy. Wait a few moments and try you call again.
Long Distance Calls Long distance calls maynot be charged to the hospital. The calls can be made collect or billed to a third number.
To make a long distance call, dial "0" to speak to the telephone operator.
Receiving Calls You can receive calls between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily. To assist your family and friends in reaching you, give them your telephone number as soon as possible after being admitted. If you change rooms during your hospitalization, be sure to provide them with your new telephone number.
Incoming callers using a touch tone telephone can call you directly at 746-4621 + 4-digit extension number.
Please note: You can avoid the recorded message by keying in the 4-digit extension number you wish to reach at any time during the recording.
Incoming callers, using a rotary dial telephone, can dial 746-4621, wait for an operator to answer and give the operator the 4-digit extension number.
The use of cellular phones is strictly prohibited within the Hospital, since they may interfere with the proper operation of medical electronic equipment.
Television Television rental is available at extension 2012. Daily or weekly rates are available. This service is managed by the Montfort Hospital Foundation.
Mail Service
Letters and packages are delivered to an posted from the Hospital. A member of our staff ensures the delivery of letters and packages. Outgoing mail may be posted at the mail box located near the main elevators on the ground floor. Stamps are sold at the Boutique. The patient’s name and room number must be clearly indicated on incoming mail.
Neck Brace and Crutches You can buy a neck brace and crutches. Inquire with the nursing staff.
Photocopy Service - coin operated A photocopier is available to patients and visitors in the Hospital lobby.
Boutique The Boutique, which is located on the ground floor, is operated by the Auxiliary Volunteers. All profits go to the Montfort Hospital.
Hours Monday-Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Evenings: 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lost and Found All articles found are turned in to Security Services (extension 2612).
Food Service The Cafeteria is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dinner is served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Café RAPIDO is open Monday to Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory Holidays.
Vending machines and a change machine are available for your convenience 24 hours a day on the 3rd floor and Emergency.
The Hospital Cafeteria offers a full range of catering services. This service may also be used by patients convalescing at home who would like prepared meals. For more information, please contact the cafeteria manager at ext. 2333.

Satellite Clinics
The Montfort Hospital has established an outpatient clinic and satellite clinics equipped to offer you a full range of specialised preventative and therapeutic health care services not requiring hospitalisation.
The Hospital’s outpatient clinic offers orthopedic, hematology, urology, cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology and minor surgical services.
The satellite clinics are the Prescott-Russell Mental Health Centre in Rickland and Casselman, the Physiotherapy Clinic in Rockland, and the Montfort Injured Workers Centre in Orleans.
Family Medicine Unit
Family Medicine Unit (Deneault-Beaulieu), is a clinical teaching family medicine unit affiliated with the University of Ottawa. A full range of services are offered for the whole family, Monday to Friday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Room 101, (613) 748-4929.
