Effective during the H1N1 Pandemic Flu:
Visitors are limited. Please see to the unit visits modalities
• All patients, visitors and staff are required to wash their hands upon entering and exiting the hospital;
• Visitors must not enter the hospital if they have flu symptoms or all other infectious transmittable diseases
Should you develop fever or flu symptoms within a few days prior to your date of surgery or appointment, please notify your physician or the department where you have an appointment before coming to the Hospital.
Visiting hours:
Visits are now limited at Montfort Hospital due to the H1N1 Pandemic Flu:
• Maximum two visitors are permitted at a time while visiting a patient on all units;
• Visiting hours for hospitalized patients at the Family Birthing Unit and the Mental Health Program are from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.;
• Please contact the Unit Staff if other arrangements are required;
Visitors suspected of carrying contagious diseases like the flu are prohibited to visiting the hospital.
Flu / influenza symptoms
Vaccination:
• The Montfort Hospital does not provide H1N1 vaccinations to the Community
• Your Public Health provider is responsible for the distributing and administering of the H1N1 vaccines to the community ;
• To receive your vaccination, contact your Municipalities Public Health provider.
• Ottawa Public Health ;
• The nearest H1N1 vaccination clinic to the Hospital is located at 300, des Pères Blancs (Richelieu Vanier Centre) ;
Several other H1N1 vaccination clinics are opened in the City of Ottawa for its residents. Waiting times may vary. Call Ottawa Public Health at 3-1-1 or visit www.ottawa.ca/health
