Welcome to the Mental Health Program. We hope that the following information will be useful to you during your stay.
Meals
Breakfast: 8 a.m. Lunch: Noon Dinner: 5:30 p.m. Snack: 8 p.m.
Visiting Hours
Visitors are allowed from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Children can visit with patients in the solarium. Visitors are not allowed in the Mental Health Program’s cafeteria (6th Floor) during meals.
Clothing and Personal Effects
Please bring your own clothing to wear during the day as well as the following toiletries: shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, laundry soap, facial tissues, etc. If you bring a radio, we ask that you use earphones. Your radio must be checked by a member of the hospital’s facilities management staff before use.
Medication
Medication is distributed at the main nursing station before meals and at bedtime. It is forbidden to keep medication in your room.
Your Room
You are responsible for maintaining your room, including your bed. You may be asked to change rooms during your stay.
Linen
Sheets, blankets, towels and gowns are located in the linen room in the East hallway. Dirty linen must be placed in the plastic bags that are available in the bathroom.
Therapeutic Activities
Therapeutic activities, as prescribed by the healthcare team, are part of your treatment plan. A team member (nurse, occupational therapist, recreologist) will give you additional information in this regard.
Outings
Unless otherwise specified, you are free to leave the floor according to the schedule established for authorized outings. The Boutique and the Rapido Café are on the main floor. You can walk outside as long as you remain on hospital grounds. Any other outing must be preauthorized by your doctor. No outing off the floor is allowed between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
Arrival
For security reasons, the hospital reserves the right to check the bags, suitcases, etc. of patients and visitors upon their arrival on the floor.
Telephone
The telephone number (for persons from outside the hospital) is 613-746-4621, extension 1600 or 4902. We ask that you limit your calls to a maximum of 10 minutes. If you wish to speak to the duty nurse, please call extension 3937. The use of cellular telephones is strictly prohibited inside the hospital.
Lockers
You may store valuable personal items in the locker in your room if you use a padlock. A padlock is available during your stay. However, the hospital is not responsible for the loss of personal items.
Discharge
The day of your discharge, please ensure that you vacate your room before 10 a.m.
Echo-Action Group
The Echo-Action Group would like to hear any comments and/or suggestions you may have relating to your stay. A staff member will provide you with information in this regard.
