The Intensive Care Unit provides care to patients whose health problems are so severe that their life is in danger. Though the Unit currently has seven beds, its capacity will increase to 12 beds in the near future.
Specialists in the Intensive Care Unit provide high quality care in collaboration with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational and respiratory therapists, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists and residents.
The philosophy of the team is based on collaboration, the sharing of knowledge and consultation. The Intensive Care Unit at Montfort also plays an important role in the hospital’s academic mission by training residents and students in health sciences.
