On May 29th 2008, the Board of Montfort Hospital has adopted a new strategic orientation centered on patient safety. " The Montfort Hospital grants a high priority with regards to the safety of our patients and staff through an integrated management of continuous quality improvement and a proactivates risk management within a systematic approach and a non-punitive environment. "
Patient safety is an important element of a quality approach and for the last years, our quality teams have realized many initiatives and projects aiming at enhancing the experience of every person - patient, visitor, employee, volunteer and healthcare professional by improving quality and safety.
The new government orientations in terms of patient safety suit perfectly to this organizational philosophy. Montfort, as all other hospitals in the province of Ontario, is compliant with those new requirements from the Ministry of health and long-term care and publishes, since last September, the data required for C-Difficile. New patient safety indicators will be published as of December 30th, 2008 as well as in the Spring of 2009.
