Personnal Effects


Please ensure that you have the following items with you at the time of admission:

- Health card
- Credit card
- Supplementary health insurance card (if applicable)
- File number from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (if applicable)

The following is a list of the items that you should bring for your hospital stay:

- Several pyjamas or nightgowns
- A dressing gown
- Slippers or nonslip socks
- Changes of underwear
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Comb or hair brush
- Deodorant
- Facial tissue

Please bring the following items as well, if applicable:

- Shaving kit
- Denture fixative
- Denture container
- Mouthwash
- Unscented moisturizer
- Contact lens solution
- Shower cap

You may also bring books and magazines, a Walkman or portable media player such as an ‘iPod’ or an ‘MP3’ player to listen to music, or any other item that you use to relax. However, we discourage patients from bringing any other type of electrical appliance, including radios and televisions. If you do so, the appliances must be in good working order and be approved by the Canadian Standards Association. In addition, the appliance must be checked by a member of the hospital’s facilities management staff prior to use.

Please note that the hospital is not responsible for personal items that are broken, lost or stolen. We ask that you leave all jewellery and any large sum of money at home.
