It is with great pride that Hôpital Montfort today launched its simulation laboratory. The new facility can reproduce real-world clinical situations through the use of simulators that allow health-care providers to acquire new skills and perfect their competencies in a safe learning environment that poses no risk to actual patients.

Hôpital Montfort today commemorated, with a great deal of pride, a decisive moment in the history of Franco-Ontarians. Ten years ago, the Court of Appeal for Ontario handed down a ruling in Montfort's favour which overturned a decision by the government of the day to shut down the hospital.

OTTAWA, December 2, 2011 -- The Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (ACAHO) has just welcomed Hôpital Montfort with open arms as the organization's newest member.

OTTAWA, November 24, 2011 – Today Hôpital Montfort signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with the University of Ottawa and four other university teaching hospitals in the region.

Over a thousand people took part in the Hôpital Montfort job fair, which took place last October 21 and 22.

On August 12, 2011, the Provincial Minister for Infrastructure, the Honourable Bob Chiarelli, and the MPP for Ottawa-Orléans, Phil McNeely, announced the allocation of $ 60 million to finance the construction of phase 1 of the Orléans Family Health Hub.

Hôpital Montfort is pleased with the funding announcement made earlier this morning by the Government of Ontario. The injection of new funds will enable the New Montfort to successfully expand.

The Administration of Hôpital Montfort is proud to announce that Alain-Michel Sékula has been appointed as Chair of the hospital’s Board of Trustees.

On June 15, Hôpital Montfort held its annual general meeting under the theme “People who care; the pursuit of excellence”.

Once again, Hôpital Montfort has cut waiting times at its Emergency Department for patients not admitted. Just over 80% of patients classified as minor cases are seen and discharged within four hours.

Today marks the 10th edition of Journée Montfort, an important gathering of health professionals, which is held at the Hampton Inn Conference Centre. Every year, Hôpital Montfort holds a full day of training in French for Francophones across the country.

At a press conference attended by numerous dignitaries, the Montfort Hospital and Collège Boréal foundations announced the creation of two new bursaries totalling $45,000 for students in eastern Ontario registered in the Medical Radiation Technology (MRT) program at Collège Boréal.

The Hôpital Montfort is saddened by the passing of Michel Gratton, who worked at Montfort as a communicator, writer and strategist. He was a key to the success of SOS Montfort. The Board of Trustees along with hospital staff staff offer their most sincere condolences to his family. Michel is survived by three daughters, Marie-France, Brigitte and Dr. Valerie Gratton, a family physician at Montfort.

Today, the Honourable Madeleine Meilleur, Minister of Community and Social Services and Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Ottawa Withdrawal Management Centre (OWMC), on a new site, located at 1777 Montreal Road, in Ottawa.
