Hôpital Montfort today celebrated its designation as a Best Practices Spotlight Organization (BPSO) by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO).
“The BPSO designation provides national recognition that Hôpital Montfort has implemented best practices, which have a positive impact on patient care,” explains Lucille Perreault, vice president of Clinical Services. “We have focused on three best practice areas: the promotion of breastfeeding, smoking cessation and the prevention of constipation in older adults.”
The BPSO designation is the fruit of collaborative engagement by some fifty health professionals and several inter-disciplinary care teams.
“We are confident that the tools put in place by Hôpital Montfort, which are evidence-based, will improve not only the health of patients, but also their satisfaction with the quality of care they receive,” states RNAO president Rhonda Seidman-Carlson. ‘This designation recognizes that Montfort supports its staff in moving patient care towards a higher level of excellence.”
Hôpital Montfort is a Francophone institution that delivers quality care in both official languages, within an academic setting and works with its partners to improve communities’health.
