Services Linked Directly to Patients
The following is a list of the services provided by volunteers at the Montfort:
Information Kiosk: Greet and direct patients, families and visitors to the hospital.
Registration Centers: Greet, direct and accompany patients who are scheduled for an appointment.
Support to Clinical Teams: Assist staff in the performance of their duties relating to patient welfare.
Palliative Care: Assist terminally-ill patients by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support.
Spiritual and Religious Services: Offer spiritual comfort to patients and an opportunity for them to be able to receive holy communion.
Friendly Visiting: Visit patients who have no visitors or who have special needs.
Montfort Long Term Care Facility: Improve the quality of life of residents by assisting in various areas such as with their leisure activities, the hair salon, the dining room, support at the reception desk, etc.
Physical Rehabilitation: Support the various departmental activities.
Services Linked Indirectly to Patients
Montfort Boutique: Respond to the needs of patients, employees and visitors by selling various articles such as gifts, flowers, toiletries, newspapers, etc.
Nevada Tickets: Assist in selling tickets in order to collect funds for the hospital.
Committees: Sit on the Board of Trustees of the Auxiliaries/Volunteers Association and on other committees.
Clerical Support: Provide administrative support in various departments.
Shredding: Collect and shred paper from the various departments in the hospital.
Fundraising Activities: Help organize fundraising activities such as the Christmas Bazaar, Valentine’s Day celebrations, the Strawberry Festival, the sale of jams, marinades, meat pies, etc.
