Montfort Hospital - Hopital Montfort

Short Term Rehabilitation Unit

This Unit specializes in the physical rehabilitation of admitted patients who, after treatment, have difficulty returning to their former level of independence. The purpose of the Unit is to assess, treat and teach patients, and to provide them with the tools they require so that they can safely return to their former living environment.

The rehabilitation team uses a collaborative approach that promotes cooperation amongst all of its health professionals. Five family physicians lead a team that includes a nurse practitioner, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, physiotherapists, assistant physiotherapists as well as a dietician and a pharmacist.

In addition to its 21 beds, the Rehabilitation Unit includes a fitness centre with specialized equipment, a kitchen and a dining room. This environment allows health professionals to assess a patient’s abilities to perform activities of daily living and household tasks.
