Structure of the Association
The Auxiliaries/Volunteers Association at Hôpital Montfort is a member of the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario (HAAO) and Volunteer Canada. As a member of the AAHO, the Board of Trustees is invited to participate in regional meetings and is part of Region Nine (9).
The purpose of the Auxiliaries/Volunteers Association is to help Hôpital Montfort and its patients by undertaking activities approved or proposed by the hospital’s Board of Trustees.
Standing committees led by members of the Association’s Board of Trustees oversee its activities. These standing committees are:
- Recognition Committee
- Commercial Activities Committee
- Special Events Committee
- Food Committee
- Communications Committee
From time to time, steering committees are also appointed to work on specific projects.
The Board of Trustees of the Auxiliaries/Volunteers Association at Hôpital Montfort has full authority to manage the internal affairs of the corporation. These administrators have full authority in matters relating to policy and management and are responsible for the use and administration of the goods, funds and affairs of the Association on behalf of all the members.
The Association is run by a board made up of at least seven (7) administrators. The members of the Executive Committee are the President, the Past President, the Vice-President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and the Manager of Volunteer Services.
The President of the Association has a seat on the Board of Trustees of the hospital and of the Foundation.
The Board of Trustees meet at least three (3) times a year and the Annual General Meeting for members is held in May of each year or according to the needs of the corporation.
